Some notes on the upcoming season

Spadefoot Nursery is a very local nursery, run by a local Tucson couple. We are what some people may refer to as idealistic. So, though it’s not the best business decision to make, we will not be open for Black Friday (November 29th). We think you should spend time with your garden, be outside, and reject the massive consumerism that is hurtful to our planet. If you HAVE to spend money, send it in the direction of one of these lovely non-profits who aim at trying to repair and protect the environment, and/or educate people about the environment.

“But you sell things that are helpful for the environment, I want to support my wildlife!” you might be hollering at your computer or phone right now. Well, ok. Then we will be open the next day, during Small Business Saturday. And we encourage you to shift your spending toward local businesses, not just for the holidays, but as much as you can every day. Certainly for the holidays, you can make somewhat of a commitment to supporting local.

A FEW MORE NOTES ON OUR HOURS THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON

We will be closed the week of Thanksgiving to be with our family, November 25th-29th.

We will also be closed the week between Christmas and New Years (also to be with family), December 23rd-December 31st.

We will be otherwise open our normal hours and you can give the gift of native landscaping and wildlife gardening for the holidays.

We offer gift cards that can be made to any amount, and they make great gifts.
