As nursery owners, we grow and sell plants, and spend time educating the public on horticulture and botany. But when we find the time, we get into the field and document our findings: mostly documenting what species are where, and contributing to the knowledge of the floras of specific areas. We also document the presence of introduced, non-native species. It’s all for science, but we also love the work, and the accompanying adventures.
Most of the images here will be from those adventures. Some plants may be familiar. Many may not, because there are a lot of plants that will never be in cultivation—they may be too small, or require special microorganism relationships that we cannot replicate in horticulture. But we want you to love those plants too. And to advocate for the few truly wild areas that are left. We should spend more time learning about these wild areas, and less time destroying them. If you would like to support our adventures you can donate a few bucks to us, help us pay for a tank of gas or deal with the wear and tear on our vehicle as we rumble over very rough roads.
