We are open for in-person shopping!

As I write this blog post, this will be the third weekend we’ve been open for in-person sales. If you watch us on our social media, you probably already know this. But for some of you who aren’t on social media, this may be news.

We still require masks. Yes, even though we are outside, and the pandemic seems over, we are still being careful. We have vulnerable people in our lives and we wish to make the environment safe for them. It may be a slight inconvenience for some, but you probably also have immuno-deficient people in your life—think of how inconvenient their lives are. The pandemic infection numbers were lower than now during this past summer and many people thought it was over. We quickly learned it was not. Hopefully, this downward trend will continue and we can go maskless soon. But for now, we are being careful.

We still provide online ordering with curbside pickup for those who wish to continue doing so. We have noticed that online sales have not dropped, so we hear you—we will continue to provide a safe curbside pickup system for those of you who wish to keep ordering this way. We only ask that if you order online, we pick out the plants. Please don’t order online and then ask to pick out the plants—it messes up our inventory system. Plus, we always pick out the best plants, and the benefit of ordering early is a privilege.

We are fully stocked with many heirloom varieties of warm-season vegetable and herb starts. Everything being offered now is entirely appropriate for the season. We are done selling cool-season starts.

Every week we restock our nursery. Our space is small, and we pack it as full as we can. Plus, we are constantly growing and there is always new stock becoming ready, especially as the warm season progresses and all the plants we have begun propagating become retail-ready.

Whether you shop in person or online, you can always see what we have in stock if you check our online shop.

We want to remind you that we are growing, and that we are just two people (with one other person who waters on the days we aren’t at the nursery). Because of that, we sometimes don’t get to updating the website as quickly as we want to—particularly during the spring. So please be patient with us as we continue to provide native plants, domestic edible crops, and botanical curiosities. All our plants are locally grown, and we never use pesticides, or even synthetic fertilizers. That’s why our nursery sometimes smells fishy!

Happy spring!
